For months I had to keep this under wraps. I have been following Michelle of ThatBlacChic.com for years. I love… I mean I LOVE her style! She sews for her muse her daughter Mori and let’s just say her work is AMAZING! When she reached out to me last year, I was shocked and humbled all at the same time. Check out her site for her inspiring style pics.
A magazine.. me…who..what …why and when? Those were the questions that ran through my mind. Would I have time to get my blog up and running, sew the required looks, take fab photos all while hosting my #sewyourview, sewalongs, monthly sewing meet ups in addition to my full time job and keep it all under wraps. Well I did and here is a sneak peak of first of many issues to come.

PATTERN INFO:
I used Simplicity 2446 for the jacket and Simplicity 8056 for the pants. I used a brocade I found at JoAnn. Let me tell you about this fabric. It is gorgeous… I love the blue and purple hues with hints of gold. However, this was my first time working with brocade and it shouldn’t get wet. I was thinking when I pressed my seams and hit that often steam button that I love. It actually caused a little shrinkage. I plan to make matching pants in the same fabric now that it has been restocked. I will make sure to AVOID the steam….LOL! I wanted some additional length to the pants so I added a cuff.
