SURPRISE!! The cat is out the bag!! Woohoo…..It has been a long few months in the making. Since the Fall of 2018, Nikki of SewingMyStyle and I met in Dallas to talk over the idea of bringing Project Sew to the Atlanta area. I struggled with this as I didn’t see this as a thing. (What I mean by this is sometimes in life you don’t see what you are doing as this big thing. I never do. But then I am so humbled by the support and outpouring of love).

Project Sew in a new city? Who will run it? Will people attend? Will they like it? Questions… Questions and more questions. Then fear and doubt came in. I’m just a regular girl that loves to sew and honestly wants everyone to try their hand at sewing. Why support me?

Project has grown tremendously, and I am still in awe of the community and the ladies that make Project Sew what it is! Yes, the ladies as I can’t do it all myself. I started Project Sew to get more people to sew and I had the support of my job to bring more events and programs to their growing list. I don’t live in Atlanta and didn’t really know how I would make it work. Here comes Nikki telling me “Girl you can do this!” “Girl you got this!” “Girl let’s pray on it…and know that you got ME!” Those three sentences and our prayer solidified the decision. Nikki is the first Project Sew Ambassador and I am happy that she will be taking the lead in Atlanta with my support.

Our first Project Sew Atlanta will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Hamilton Recreation Center. I am looking forward to meeting many of the sewers and bloggers I follow and love! Like, I can’t wait to get my camera out to take pics with them in person. I am so EXCITED! So whose joining us?

You never know if an idea you have will one day grow into something that you didn’t even dream of. I didn’t even think of Project Sew in another city let alone how far it has grown. Being humble and staying that regular girl doing regular things will always be me.
