Who would have taught that a sweatshirt could be so stylish, cute and filled with unexpected details? Well the I AM Patterns has done it again! I am so excited to review this pattern as part of my Makerist.Com monthly makes.
For the fabric, I used sweatshirt fabric from JoAnn Stores that I purchased. I actually bought 2 other fabrics but went back and forth with it until I settled from what I had in my stash.
Let’s talk about this pattern. This is 2 for 1, the LION AND ZÈBRE – which features a puffy sleeve sweatshirt. I chose the ZÈBRE and it comes with a cute detail on shoulder for a button placket. I absolutely loved that it took the sweatshirt from just regular to fun and I would even dare to say spectacular. Can we talk about the puff sleeves. I think when I sew this again, I will make them more dramatic and even combine both patterns. Now that is a look.
This is a fairly simple pattern to make and sews up very quickly. I did have issues with the neckband but that was my own error because I didn’t pay attention to the directions. I always say (No skipping steps) and I don’t, however, I think with the pressure to go live and sew in real time, I had to juggle too much at the same time….LOL.. Yep I am going to blame it on the live. You can see the live here... I totally was just having fun and not sewing. LOL
You can find it here on Makerist.
I decided to pair mine with some jeans and a cute fedora to bring the look together. Let me know would you sew a sweatshirt? Did you like this one?

xoxo, Monica
